A roommate I had in college was a strange guy. This guy came from the other side of the country (I’m US). He went out at all hours of the night, never showed up for class, slept during the day, and drank more energy drinks than is healthy. His parents were worried about him, apparently, and hired a PI to trail him.
“They kept talking about whether or not they should kill me or let me go. I convinced them to drop me off as long as I promised not to say anything to the cops.”
Love the fact that they conquered, and fought their hardest battles on their own.
Here’s to the men who aren’t afraid to say, ‘I love you,’ when they really feel it. The men who realize feelings might not be reciprocated, but who take that chance regardless.
He chooses quality people in his circle because that’s who will motivate him to be a better man.
Now without him, you have reclaimed control of your life. You are your own person and you have become your own light.
It hurts to know that they’re right there, that they’re still the same person you shared so many memories with but can no longer reach out to. It hurts to know that you really didn’t matter because they could just drop you so easily.
“There were fingernail scratches on the insides of the doors. The old tenants used to lock their toddlers in the closets for days.”
She’s been so reliant on just herself in the past that she’s nearly forgotten what it’s like to consider someone else and to be honest, she’s not sure she’s ready for it.
Just because you are going through hell right now, doesn’t mean you will never ever smile again.
“Her face comes into focus. Half of it is cover in burn marks and blisters, and the other half is charred. The final detail come into view. This part with haunt my thoughts forever. Her eyes, dear god her eyes. They were black. Black as night. “
They didn’t leave because they didn’t care they left because they couldn’t keep trying to convince you to care.
She lost interest because she realized you’re not ready. You’re not ready for a relationship, you’re not ready for something real. You’re still into casual dating, you’re into things that are fleeting, things you can easily end and people who don’t know how to love.
You can give yourself 24 hours to feel sorry for yourself, but that’s it because while your life might feel like it’s falling apart the rest of the world is still moving.
I would rather hurt someone with the truth then paint lies just so it’s easier for me.
