Once you finally realize that you can be your truest and happiest self without being involved with another person, you’ll get to be alone without being lonely. And you’ll actually like it.

I want you to know that my heart is yours to take if yours can’t work as hard anymore. And I want you to know, that I will do everything in my power to hold your heart in the light when you can’t find your flashlight in the dark.

Love is nothing short of a miracle. And just because I haven’t found that miraculous connection yet, doesn’t mean I can’t celebrate other peoples’ miracles.

So, when the one who broke your heart comes crawling back to you, don’t let him in. Don’t give him the power to break you apart again. Don’t slip up. And don’t kiss him for the last time.

Go out and buy that dress you’ve been eyeing for months. Grab a friend you haven’t seen in a while and catch up over coffee. Maybe get that haircut you have always wanted but have been too scared to get. No matter what you do, make sure it brings a smile to your face. You deserve that.

But at a certain point, when the rain stops and the sun starts to peak out from the dark clouds that like to weigh on you, you realize that you have to stop waiting. You need to remind yourself of who you were before you met the boy that left you.

Heartbreak. It’s an inevitable part of our lives that we can’t seem to run away from. It stings you, it shakes your whole being, and it leaves you reaching for anything that you can hold on to. It is a coming of age marker in your life that can either leave you broken or reborn.

Let’s start getting excited for our future instead of running for cover. Let’s celebrate that new days, new beginnings and experiences that are coming our way. Let’s celebrate the people we haven’t met yet, the love we haven’t felt yet and the friends we haven’t had yet.
