Some dreams are meant to fade away. Like the futures we once had.

I tried. And I failed. I failed you.

So when someone refuses to give you that closure, you need to do it for yourself. You say goodbye. You close that chapter. You don’t give someone that opportunity to come crawling back into your life later on.

So when they come back, smile and go on your way. Wish them well, but not with you. Move on and be happy.

Follow your heart and know that it will bring you exactly where you need to be.

Sit down and journal. Text an old friend. Listen to your favorite music. And breathe.

I won’t force you to love me. I won’t force you to like me. But I see what’s between us, and I’m willing to put in the work. I hope you are too.

We may have been taught that relationships need to be difficult, but actually they shouldn’t be. The real ones don’t have to be.
