Thank you for inspiring me to be a better person. For seeing gardens within me when I saw cemeteries.

They left you because they couldn’t convince themselves that they wouldn’t turn into their parents, that they wouldn’t wake up one day and want to flee.

All we ever allowed ourselves to be were parallel lines, seeing each other, hurting each other, never crossing over to the other side, choosing distance over depth, resistance over understanding, we’ve become so obsessed with emergency landings and running away…

I look forward to the simple moments this year will gift us. The moments where I get to admire you when you are unguarded, or unaware.

I love the places you hold your doubt. The places that are dark because you have forgotten to grow their light.

Remember that your left lung is smaller than your right lung, simply to make room for the heart you hold within your chest.

Do not wear your body like an apology. Wear it proudly. Be in awe of your form for what it is, for where it gets you, for what it allows you to feel and do.
