16. I had a coworker that was outraged that, having finished school, she still had to study while working (during office hours so she was basically getting paid to get a diploma) saying: “It’s ridiculous! Not even doctors have to study anymore after finishing school but I do!”
With anything else she said I could control myself but this caused me to laugh in her face out loud. She didn’t last long.
17. Kind of a co-worker. He was a grad student in the lab next door to mine. PhD candidate in genetics at a pretty good university. The man never showed up, when he did, he had absolutely no idea how to run any kind of experiments or statistical analysis. He didn’t know how to use the computer for anything besides Facebook. There was one time he didn’t show up at all for nearly 3 weeks, came in for one of their lab meetings then told the Professor that he was leaving on vacation for another 3 weeks because his friend bought him a ticket to go to florida. Then didn’t come back for another 5 weeks.
This is aside from his despicable personal hygiene. We wondered how he ever managed to live on his own and make it through undergrad, let alone be accepted into his PhD program.
I ran into him outside of work and it turns out he was neighbors with my friend…a couple weeks later she told me that apartment got busted into by cops looking for meth. He didn’t ever come back to work after that.
