The Teaser Trailer For ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 2 Just Dropped–Here’s Your First Look

Jenny Han fans, get ready! If you loved The Summer I Turned Pretty novel trilogy and thought Amazon Prime’s first season of the adaptation was just the right amount of romantic drama for your summer-lovin’ heart, there’s good news. The Summer I Turned Pretty returns July 14, 2023 with their second season. It’s got all the love, loss, and summer shenanigans you know and love. Best of all, we got a teaser trailer, which just dropped today. Have a look:

This season focuses on love and loss for Belly, the Fisher brothers, and the people they love. If you’ve read the second book, It’s Not Summer Without You, then you’ll know what’s coming. If not, I won’t spoil it for you. Watching the teaser trailer above, you might not even know what’s coming. They’ve done a good job keep the plot points hidden.

If you have read the book, then you might be surprised at what’s in the trailer. It all seems so happy. There’s a cute relationship arc with Belly and Conrad. We see Belly’s best friend Taylor having a moment with Belly’s brother, Steven. And all the while, it’s interspersed with fun times at the beach, county fairs, and fun love. Where does the loss and heartbreak come in? It might seem like this is a departure form the second book, but remember: This is only a teaser trailer. You’ll have to watch and see.

Amazon Studios

The first season got a killer soundtrack featuring Taylor Swift songs to punctuate every kiss and heartbreak. For the teaser trailer, fans got “august (Taylor’s Version)” a song highlighting the heartbreak involved in being in a love triangle. Knowing Belly’s history with Conrad and Jeremiah, the song choice couldn’t be more spot-on. Swifies will be happy to learn that the soundtrack for season two will be just as Taylor Swift-heavy as the first season was.

Reactions to the trailer have been positive. Fans are loving the cute moments between Belly and Conrad and the little glimpse we get of Taylor and Steven. And of course, everyone’s raving about Taylor Swift’s “august.” Check out some fan reactions from YouTube and Twitter:
