Because any many that treats you as if who you are is not enough does not deserve the love you give.

No matter what we’re going through, no matter how heavy a burden laid upon our hearts, no matter how shattered and tired we feel—that breakage won’t last forever. Pain is only temporary.

Women are strong by nature; you don’t need to prove yourself by pushing other people away. Limiting your human connection doesn’t make you strong, sweet girl, it only makes you lonely.

We will say goodbye, not because we’ve reached an ending, but because that’s the word you say when you begin a new chapter in your life’s story. And that goodbye does not mean the book closes; we simply turn a page.

I’ll always be thankful for the sliver of time I shared with you, despite the impermanence—because it was real.

You are rescued from pain.

Sometimes I forget how impermanent this life is, how fragile and breakable we are, how temporary our existence is. And sometimes I need a little reminder; we all need a little reminder.

It was you who taught me that time and distance don’t have power over a real connection. It was you who showed me that real love doesn’t leave, doesn’t run, doesn’t fade when the roads turn and twist.

You have to remind yourself that a new day lies before you, untouched and unhindered. And you have to find it within yourself to take a breath, to put one foot in front of the other, to step forward, to let what happens happen, to trust that today is new.

Promise to be stronger than your yesterdays, and hopeful for your tomorrows. Today is here, and today hurts. But today will soon be done and gone.

You feel whole on your own.

Thank you for loving me. Thank you for loving me despite my flaws, despite my sins, despite all the ways I won’t and never will measure up to your perfection. Thank you for giving me a second chance, a third chance, a three millionth chance to start again, and to love me, unconditionally.

I’m slowly learning to let it be. To take deep breaths when I’m faced with conflict, to remind myself that I’m only human, and I will try and fail and still not be any less.
