“I had been dating my then-boyfriend (now fiancé) for maybe about 2 weeks. This was before we were staying over at each other’s houses, and after hanging out with him way too late, both of us having to be up for work very early, I leave his house, and about a mile down the road I get a flat tire. I knew he had to be up earlier than me, and he might have already taken his hearing aids out so he may not hear my call, and I considered for a moment calling AAA, but decided to try him anyway. He answered, and without hesitation said he’d be right there (had to put clothes on, he was in his underwear). He got to me and changed my tire in the dark on a back-country road while I felt horrible at the situation I caused. He held me and told me he was glad I didn’t call AAA. THEN he followed me home in his car to make sure I got home okay <:’) I knew he was a great person already, but that simple act of kindness and selflessness is one I’ll always remember.
