I Don’t Understand Why The Universe Keeps Bringing You Back

Yoann Boyer

I don’t understand why you always show up just when I’m about to move on.

I don’t understand why I’d travel miles away to forget you only to find you there.

I don’t understand why you keep showing up if you’re not right for me.

I don’t understand why the universe keeps sending me reminders of us when we’ve decided we’re just not right for each other.

I don’t understand why we still like the same things, have the same friends and share the same interests.

Didn’t we say we’re different? Didn’t we agree we’re not compatible? Didn’t we convince ourselves that someone out there is better for us?

I don’t understand what the universe is trying to tell us. I know we both believe that when things are meant to be there shouldn’t be any mixed signals and the signs should be clear but how come all signals connect to you and all signs lead to you? How come the signals and the signs don’t connect or align with anyone else like they do with you?

I don’t understand what our story is anymore. I don’t understand why we say our chapter has ended if we’re going to rewrite the same old story over and over again.

I don’t understand why the universe keeps asking me to move on and forget you but then when I least expect it to, you pop up.

I don’t understand what the universe is trying to tell me because this doesn’t happen with anyone else. This is not something that I understand. This is not something that I can get over either because I trust the universe. I always leave things up to the universe when I’m lost because I have faith in how the universe plays things out in my favor but I don’t have faith in you and I’m still trying to understand why the universe does.

What does the universe know that I don’t? What is it about you and the universe?

I try not to read too much into it but it’s hard not to when I put my faith in the universe, somehow it chooses you and when I ask the universe for some guidance, it follows you.

I guess only time will tell, but until I know, I’ll keep moving on and praying that the universe either makes it right one last time or makes you vanish from my sphere forever. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
