Date Someone Who You Can’t Wait To Live With
I can't wait until the day that I know coming home from work means coming home to you.
I hate living apart from you. I hate having to drive to see you. I hate only having a certain amount of time together before I have to leave again.
I hate that I have to text you when I should be able to whisper into your ear. I hate having to sleep alone when I should be able to share your bed. I hate that we aren’t living together yet when we both want to be together all the time.
I can’t wait to reach over and grab you anytime I want. Kiss you anytime I want. Sleep with you anytime I want — without having to first send a text and invite you over. Without having to count down the days until we have enough time to see each other again.
I can’t wait to decorate every room in the house with snowmen in winter and pumpkins in autumn. To hang pictures of us kissing on the walls and cover the fridge in magnets from places we’ve been during summer vacations. To make our house feel like a real home, like our home.
I can’t wait to create our own version of a family. To adopt a puppy or a kitten that we will raise together. To invite our friends over for the holidays to celebrate together. To weave our parents and siblings and cousins together, because we are all a family now.
I can’t wait to learn even more about you. To see what book you reach for when you are bored late at night. To watch how you hover over the sink as you do the dishes. To get to know you even better, even though I feel like I already know everything about you.
I can’t wait to fall asleep next to you every single night. To share blankets as I wrap my limbs around you. To hear the sound of your heartbeat rising and falling through your chest. To know that, if I need anything, you are going to be right there beside me.
I can’t wait to wake up next to you every single morning. To hear your voice before I hear anything else. To surprise you with a home cooked breakfast. To playfully scold you for letting it get cold as we make out on the couch.
I can’t wait to walk through the door and see you sitting in a chair, engaged in a new novel, or standing near the kitchen counters, snacking from the cabinets. I can’t wait until the day that I know coming home from work means coming home to you.
I can’t wait to tell everyone the news that I am living with the love of my life. I can’t wait to take pictures of our first place that we can save forever. I can’t wait to take this next step with you so that we are even closer to marriage.
I honestly cannot wait to build a life alongside you. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
