How Lady Gaga Responded To Piers Morgan’s Dumbass Tweet About Her Is Classy As Hell

Lady Gaga recently revealed to the world that she suffers from PTSD, or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is a pretty big reveal in a world where even the perception of suffering from mental illness can leave you stigmatized.

But out of a touching moment, here comes Piers Morgan. If you didn’t know, Piers Morgan is a television personality who has hosted a cancelled CNN program, served as a judge on TV contests, and now makes ill-informed tweets about mental illnesses.

He quoted the CNN movie clip of Gaga’s confession, and decided to throw in his two-cents:

Morgan essentially gives his (non-medical) opinion that Gaga is lying about her condition, and suggests that only soldiers can suffer from PTSD. Unfortunately, as one everyday Twitter user pointed out, Morgan’s view is not backed up by anyone with qualifications — including the National Institute for Mental Health:

Most people would find it totally reasonable for Lady Gaga to blast Morgan for his comments. I mean, how would you feel if someone suggested you were lying about an illness? Instead, she replies this morning with a very classy tweet:

Lady Gaga probably responded this way because she actually wants to de-stigmatize mental illness, and perhaps actually change Morgan’s mind. She’s not in this for retweets or to drag someone, she wants to make the world a better place for those who suffer from PTSD and other mental illnesses.

This incident certainly hasn’t tempered Morgan’s arrogance, however.

Hopefully he is willing to take a step back and get some perspective here. If not, I guess who cares? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thought Catalog Logo Mark
