This year, Lake Bell proved she can do anything. The actress pulled triple duty on In a World… as a writer, director and star of her own vehicle, one that announced her as a talent to watch. Bell’s screenplay is a deft satire of Hollywood and a generous ensemble comedy, giving so much space to let her supporting players shine. However, Bell saved the best role for herself, as a voice-over actress trying to make it in the business and find herself in the process.
