SNL’s Michael Longfellow’s Rant About The New REAL ID Requirement Is The Most Relatable Thing You’ll See This Week
This past weekend, SNL cast member Michael Longfellow made an appearance on Weekend Update to discuss his thoughts on the new REAL ID requirements in the United States, and it’s honestly the most relatable thing you’ll see this week.
“Guess what? I’m not getting the real ID,” scoffed Longfellow to cheers from the crowd. From there, Longfellow continued his stance on REAL IDs, starting with a hilarious message to the U.S. government:
“Hey, government! No. You already gave me an ID. If it’s fake, you fix it,” he said.
Honestly, I have to agree with him. Like, why is the government’s poor planning our problem? Exactly.
When Weekend Update host Colin Jost pressed Michael, asking him if he was really going to skip the new REAL ID, Longfellow pushed back. “I already have an ID, and now you’re telling me I have to go to the DMV to go to the airport to fly on a plane? What a day. How should we end it? Diarrhea?” Michael retorted. “No. No, I don’t think I will.”
Anyway, from there, things only got more and more off the rails as Longfellow continued to discuss his hatred of the DMV and how it might not be the best time for the airport to be making demands given…*gestures broadly*
Points were made, points were made.
Anyway, watch the hilarious segment in full here:
