One Day, You Will Look Back On This Time, And All You Will See Is Magic

One day, you will look back on this time, and all you will see is magic.

You won’t remember how stuck you felt, or how far behind you thought you were, or what you wished you had done differently.

All you will see is that within your uncertainty was also potential, and within your lostness was also an opportunity to be found, and within your discomfort was a chance to see what you needed to change, and changing it was you becoming the person you were always meant to be.

If there is not one single thought that can comfort you in your quietest, darkest nights, please let it be this — one day, you will look back on this time, and all you will see is magic.

You will see how what left the path was clearing the path. You will see how a greater plan was at work — not one directed by a higher being, but by your highest self. You will recognize that despite your most intense resistance, what was not meant for you would not remain with you. You will recognize that despite your deepest fears, what was meant for you was an inevitability.

That ongoing discomfort deep within you was inching you toward a place better than you ever would have consciously thought to ask for — better than you would have ever believed you deserved.

You will see how all of your questions were answered.

You will see the lesson each of your challenges came to teach.

You will see that each step served a purpose.

When you look back on years past, the struggles you endured will slowly smooth out into stories of your resilience, your bravery, the odds that were against you, the incredible life you lived.

When you look back on years past, you will see how your journey was weaving you toward an end point, a place at which you’d finally turn the page and begin writing a new narrative.

You will realize that the universe was not keeping you stuck anywhere. You were in a holding pattern that you had to heal your way out of. You were not waiting for anything to begin, and you were not waiting for anything to end. You were simply waiting on your own readiness. You were where you were because it’s where you felt you had to be at the time. There was something within that moment, inside that experience, latent within that person or place, that you needed to have.

So you had it.

You had it even if every other thought in your mind was telling you to move forward. Your soul made you stay still until you learned what you needed to know, and healed what you needed to release, and realized what you needed to see, and became who you needed to be.

One day, you will look back on right now, and you will see the same thing.

You will know that all of this is not for nothing.

All of the effort, all of the trial and error. All of the showing up and being turned down. All of the believing, and all of the lost hope. All of the days turning your head out the window and wondering, could this be it? and all of the nights that follow, staring at the ceiling and knowing, there is more.

Your story will change.

Difficulty does not arrive to keep us trapped. It arrives to show us the way we are trapping ourselves inside a life we no longer want.

I hope you have the courage to see the truth. I hope you will trust me when I say, one day, you will look back on all of this — the highs and lows, light and dark, confusion and certainty, lostness and clarity, becoming and unbecoming, what was gained and lost, and every single step as a sequential path toward where you stand today, reading this right now.

One day, you will look back, and all you will see is magic.
