1. “I’m lost.”
Being lost enables you to see places you never thought existed and experience moments you never thought possible. Detours and uncharted waters allow us to explore, to make substantial mistakes, and to develop the best parts of ourselves. Don’t lose hope; you’ll find your way.
2. “I don’t have the rest of my life figured out.”
Welcome the unknown. Let life surprise you. There’s no rush. You have so much time on your hands and you can use that to find out what you truly want to do with your life. Remove the spirit of pressure.
3. “I feel stuck.”
There will be times when you feel like your train is not moving, when you feel like you’re still under the same umbrella with the same people. Your time will come, you’ll figure out where you’ll head next, and by then I’m sure you have the courage to move.
4. “I’m not always strong.”
Embrace your weakness, honey. You can’t be strong all the time, you just can’t. There will be moments of breakdown and fallback, but bear in mind that those are only platforms for your comeback.
5. “Sometimes, I need someone to tell me it’s gonna be okay.”
And that’s acceptable, because there will certainly be instances in our lives where we need comfort, where we need that one person to tell us we’ll make it through, that one person to motivate us to keep trying, to keep moving.
6. “There are nights I cry myself to sleep.”
Crying is a form of release. All those hurts and disappointments pent up inside you and deserve to be out. You owe it to yourself to let it go. You deserve to breathe.
7. “I make bad choices.”
We all do. We all make bad choices; we’re only human. The thing that matters is that we try, though we fail at times – at least we TRIED.
8. “I fuck things over.”
We lose battles, we miss opportunities, we mess up. That’s part. That’s when we master the art of getting up, striving harder and being better.
9. “I hate my job.”
Leaving a job is easier said than done for some of us, and you can be one of those people who finds it hard to leave. However, hold on. Somewhere inside you I know you will find the bravery to leave that job you hate. It can be today, tomorrow, or the next day. It doesn’t really matter when, as long as you do.
10. “Sometimes, I want to hit pause.”
You can take a break, you are allowed time. Please don’t forget that.
11. “I can’t please everyone.”
No one can. Understand that we are not here to please other people, we are not waking up to wait upon their praises and absolutely not meant to become their “idea” of who we should be. We are born unique and we are who we want to be, we don’t need their approval on that.
12. “I don’t want to remain friends with you anymore.”
Sometimes holding on to people does more damage than letting them go. It’s okay to move forward without the same people, especially the toxic ones, it’s okay to cut ties, to burn bridges. You are not meant to be with the same people all your life. You are meant to grow, to meet new people and to build new relationships that will last longer than you ever imagined.
13. “I’m struggling.”
Without struggles, we’ll never be who we’re bound to be. Struggles reveal our strengths and molds us into better versions of ourselves.
14. “I’m not always brave.”
You can take off that mask you’ve been putting every single day of your life, you can take a break from being brave, you can be honest and admit that sometimes you’re scared, scared of another battle, scared of getting hurt, scared of life.
15. “I want change.”
Then change. Change is good. Change can direct us to something grander.
16. “I feel empty.”
You’re not alone in this. We feel empty because we leave portions of ourselves to those we used to love. But even if we feel empty, please know that we’re not. You are never empty.
17. “No.”
It’s one simple word, as easy to say as “yes” and yet we find it very difficult to say. Why? Because we fear. We fear their reaction when we finally say no. We fear to decline. We fear to reject. Well, we shouldn’t. We are granted the freedom to say no if we feel like it. So say it, say no.
18. “I’m not ALWAYS happy.”
Sadness plays a major role in our lives. Happiness cannot be happiness without sadness. Happy days are hard to acknowledge when we don’t even know what sad days are like. The truth is, sad days makes us appreciate the happy days more.
19. “I love you.”
I know it’s scary to admit love because loving is letting people get a hold of your heart. In loving, you open yourself up and allow people inside, there is beauty in that. Loving doesn’t necessarily equate to vulnerability. Loving equates to bravery.
20. “I don’t love you.”
Tell him. Tell her. Now. Don’t make them believe something false. Stop fucking people’s feelings over. Don’t let them expect something from you, especially something you cannot give.
21. “I’m beautiful. I’m good enough. I’m worth it.”
Admit it, because you are. You really are. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
