Those who have noted Jimmy’s problematic behaviors throughout the show may feel even more vindicated now that Chelsea has shared a shocking revelation of how she caught Jimmy lying off-cameras around the time of the infamous fight on the patio. In a new podcast interview, Chelsea shared what went behind the scenes and what wasn’t caught on camera. This provides additional context to some of her reactions, including her distrust about him going out to a bar for his friend’s birthday party on another occasion.

According to Chelsea, Jimmy FaceTimed her while he was in bed and asked if he could stay at his own place for the night as he was super tired and indicated he was about to go to sleep. Chelsea encouraged this and said she would go back to her townhouse provided by the show. Only a couple minutes later, Jimmy butt-dialed Chelsea and she could hear Jimmy and his girlfriends talking about the next bar they were going to. This lying and deception led to Chelsea feeling distrustful of Jimmy and it probably did not help that he also went out at the bar for a friend’s birthday party, which is why likely why she reacted in mistrust to him going out. Apparently, it was not him going out for an hour that disturbed her, but rather the larger context of him going out with the female friend he had slept with off-cameras and lying about it. Jessica too mentioned on the Nick Viall show that Jimmy had misrepresented how much he had gone out.

In addition, Chelsea shared on the podcast interview that Jimmy was only attentive and affectionate toward her when the cameras were on, presumably to present a good image; when the cameras were off and when Jimmy had access to his phone, he spent most of his time indifferent to or disengaged from Chelsea, texting and FaceTiming with the female friend he had slept with and going out with his friends. This can be added to the list of strange behaviors Jimmy has engaged in on the show (which audiences seem to minimize as they scrutinize only Chelsea’s reactions), including calling AD “stacked” in front of his fiancé, gaslighting both Chelsea and Jessica about things he’s said that were caught on camera, and bringing a female best friend he slept with on the show only to blame Chelsea for his own actions. Let’s get real: both Jimmy and his female friend are adults. If they didn’t want the nature of their relationship exposed to public scrutiny in any way, they should have kept her out of the show altogether. This isn’t Chelsea’s fault, and she should have never been put in the position to keep secrets for Jimmy all while being made to look “clingy” despite the fact that his words didn’t match his actions. This combined with what appears to be inappropriate enmeshment and a lack of boundaries with this female friend tells viewers that Chelsea had every right to call him out.

“He asked if he could stay at his townhouse, he said, “Would you care if I stayed at my own place?” I said, no, I had a little wine night with the girls, I’ll go home to the townhouse, I am right down the street, you know, I’ll go chill by myself, and you have your time to yourself, that’s super healthy, you go ahead. He FaceTimed me in bed, saying he was so tired, and we hang up, I just had gone back to my townhouse, we hang up and he butt-dials me. And you hear all his friends in his apartment, all the girls, everyone talking about the next bar they’re going to. And when I tell you, I was just in disbelief…this fool has the nerve to FaceTime me…and tell me…in his bed…I was dumbfounded.”

Since Jimmy also pretended Jessica had stormed out of the pods only ten minutes into their date during the reunion and producers provided receipts this was not the case, it makes sense that he may have a habit of deceiving others and distorting reality. He also swore Chelsea to secrecy about the fact that he had slept with his female friend, placing his friend and Chelsea in a disturbingly uncomfortable situation no one should have to deal with, only to tell Chelsea it was all her fault for sharing that on camera, knowing full well if she didn’t, she would be made to look crazy.

It’s unsettling to think that Chelsea is the one who has been vilified in this scenario while Jimmy’s actions haven’t been more closely scrutinized, especially during the reunion. It’s time we hold people accountable and recognize the dynamics of manipulation. Interestingly, it does appear Chelsea and Jimmy are linking up again as they were shown engaging in PDA before and after the reunion, though Chelsea claims they are friends. Red flags galore.
