When Moving On Becomes The Only Choice

When Moving On Becomes The Only Choice

When someone shows you their true colors more than once, it becomes impossible to silence your fears or cover your eyes while looking at them and the reality of who they are. It becomes harder to trust them and even harder to respect them. The hardest part is accepting the fact that you’re better off without this person in your life. The hardest part is realizing that something inside of you has changed and you can never get it back to what it was. Your relationship is officially broken.

When moving on becomes the only choice, it might mean that your mornings won’t be the same, you won’t wake up to their texts or their calls. You won’t look forward to the part of the day where you get to see each other. When moving on becomes the only choice your mornings will be spent trying to heal the wounds they left behind.

Even though moving on before you’re ready is hard but what’s harder is losing yourself with someone who brings out the worst in you. Losing yourself trying to be someone you don’t want to be. Losing yourself loving someone who doesn’t love you the way you want to be loved. When moving on becomes the only choice you remember that at the end of the day, you only have yourself.

Because the point of moving on is to remember your worth and who you really are. The point is to remember that you are whole on your own and you don’t need anyone else to make you happy or prove to you that you’re worth loving. The point is to remember that there’s a part of it that you can’t control. You can’t force someone to love you. You can’t change someone who’s not ready to change and you also can’t change your needs or your standards. There’s a part of it that’s purely up to fate, how things unfold, how things end and who truly belongs in your life.

When moving on becomes the only choice, you eventually do it. You eventually move on and that’s when you find out that you didn’t need this person for your survival. You learn that sometimes losing someone is a blessing because it helps you find other ways to fill the void. You meet new people, you go on more adventures, you get back in touch with your friends and family. Somehow, it shows you that there is more to life than hanging on to someone who’s already gone. There’s more to life than waiting for something that may never happen. When you choose to move on, you choose yourself and that will always be the best choice.
