Outlander Season 7 comes to Netflix

For those of you who can’t be bothered to pay for Starz, but still want to get your dose of time-travel romance, I have good news—the first half of Outlander season 7 is finally arriving on Netflix today. Originally aired in 2023, the first batch of episodes finds Claire imprisoned for murder, Brianna and Roger making a pitstop in 1978, and plans to return to Scotland thwarted by Jamie’s conscription into the Continental Army. The Frasier’s couldn’t manage to escape the American Revolution, and it’s time, once again, for them to watch history unfold before their eyes.

Final Draft
Netflix loves a physical reality show, and Final Draft marks the streaming platform’s first foray into a Japanese-language version of the genre. Twenty-five former athletes will compete for the ultimate physical and psychological redemption, and the chance to win 30 million yen (˜$200,000 USD) which will help them launch their next chapter. You’ll get just the right mix of emotional backstories and grueling challenges, all mixed into one riveting series.
Jim Jefferies: Two Limb Policy
The Australian American comic is back with his tenth TV stand-up special this Tuesday. Comedy promotions tend to be close to the chest, but the media has teased riffs on tiny mustaches, the challenges of being a straight man, and a critique of careers in “acting”. Netflix has given the special a TV-MA rating, so be forewarned if you’re co-watching with kids, or parents, alike.

Coyote Ugly and Yellowstone star Piper Perabo also joins the cast.
Young Millionaires
Netflix’s latest series follows four French teens from Marseille after they win a 17 million euro lottery jackpot, but fall one year short of the legal limit to claim the money. In the Mud
Netflix continues adding to its repertoire of Argentinean titles with a crime-drama inspired by series co-director Sebastián Ortega’s El marginal. Following five female inmates who become bonded after a deadly accident unfolds as they are being transported to prison, they must join together in the aftermath and use their unique skills in order to survive “La Quebrada” and it’s different “tribes”.
The Kingdom
The Kansas City Chiefs are getting their own six-part reality series, covering their 2024 season, which marked their failed attempt at the unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat. But that loss to the Philadelphia Eagles won’t deter Swifties on the look out for a possible cameo from the pop star partner of Chief’s tight-end Travis Kelce.

Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser
It’s no surprise that early 00’s reality TV has massive issues in retrospect. Does anyone remember The Swan? But Netflix is bringing together former contestants, trainers and producers to deconstruct the exploitative physical and mental toll the popular televised weight-loss challenge took on those who participated, as well as the impact left on viewers over the course of its 18 seasons on air.
The Echoes of Survivors: Inside Korea’s Tragedies
This latest docu-series serves as a sequel to 2023’s In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal which exposed the true stories of Korean leaders claiming to be prophets. We will get a follow up on the JMS case, including new testimony, as well as three more tragedies with lasting impact on the national psyche. If you like “deeply human investigative storytelling”, as the press-release promises, this is a must-watch.
Coming to theaters this week
Americana
This Sydney Sweeney starrer finally hits theaters, over two years after it’s debut at South by Southwest in 2023. A modern western shot in New Mexico, the film also features performances from Halsey, Eric Dane, and Paul Walter Hauser.
Witchboard
Another post-festival release, this remake of the 1986 film by the same name stars Madison Iseman and Aaron Dominguez as engaged couple Emily and Christian, who are café co-owners in New Orlean’s historic French Quarter. Their lives are turned upside down when Emily discovers an ancient pendulum board, and they are aided by Alexander, an expert in the occult, to navigate an underworld full of White Witches, masked balls, and Naga Soth, the Queen of Witches.

The Serial Killer’s Apprentice
Diving into Houston’s “Candyman Killer”, Dean Corll, and his accomplice, Elmer Wayne Henley Jr., this documentary is inspired by the eponymous book by Dr. Katherine Ramsland and Tracy Ullman. This is the first time Henley has spoken about the crimes, which terrorized Texas in the 1970s, in over fifty years. Ramsland is a reknowned criminologist, and features directly in conversation with her subject. It’s the perfect watch for true-crime fanatics who love a vintage case.
