7 Reasons Girls Don’t Get Right-Swiped On Tinder

Listen, I’m not judging anyone for being on Tinder, regardless of what it is you’re looking for. That’s actually the point of this article. Ladies, if, for whatever reason, you’re not having a bevy of success on the app, here are some reasons guys on the opposite end of the screen aren’t hitting you with that right swipe. I’m not speaking for all guys, but I’m sure I’m speaking for a decent number of them:

1. You Have One Picture.

I’m sure everyone is at least a little skeptical of Tinder, so if you only have one picture, we’re going to be thinking one of the following: (a) Is this a spam account? (b) Is that the only good picture she has? (c) Is that even a recent photo?

2. You Have No Bio.

I mean, yeah, there are some guys who only want to sleep with you, in which case, they really don’t care about anything except “What dat mouf do?” Personally, I think a bio reveals more about someone than their picture does. An interesting and/or funny bio could definitely persuade me to want to learn more about you.

3. You Come Off Like A Bitch In Your Bio.

Again, I’m just trying to tell you how guys view things, so don’t shoot the messenger. If you make “demands” or “qualifications” in your bio, I’m probably going to be turned off, whether I meet them or not. Telling guys you’re not “DTF” is fine because you’re just letting them know up front that you’re not into that. However, if you’re putting, “Must be 6’0” or taller,” it just makes you come off as shallow, especially since it is something a guy can’t control. Imagine if a guy had, “Must have C-cups or bigger,” or demands a specific eye/hair color in his bio? He comes off like an ass.

4. Selfie overload.

Great, you have more than one picture; guys now have a pretty good idea of what you look like. But, if every picture you have is a selfie, we’re going to wonder (by default) if you have any friends and/or an unhealthy need for attention.

5. Where’s Waldo?

You’ve got awesome friends and an active social life, so you want to show that off, right? Excellent. There’s just one problem — we don’t know who the hell you are. If every picture includes a group of girls (particularly the same group of girls), it’s going to be a guessing game of who is actually, well, you. Personally, sometimes I like the challenge of trying to figure out the common denominator in each photo. (Note: That’s one of a handful of math reference I’ve made since high school.) However, there are times — particularly when each photo has the same group of girls — when I’m just like, “OK, I’m not dealing with this.”

6. Baby mama drama.

The harsh reality is that many guys — especially 20-something guys — don’t want to deal with a woman with a child, on any level. If it looks like you have kids in your photos or if you acknowledge it in your bio, some guys will swipe left before reading the end of your bio.

7. He’s Just Not That Into You

Sorry to be blunt, but it’s reality. I know that I’m getting left-swiped by plenty of girls who don’t go for skinny Italians with big noses, but you know what? I’m not losing sleep over it. To each, is own, and you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
