5 Reasons You Seriously Need To Stop Looking For Love
Love is all around us and it is up to you to fully acknowledge this fact. Sometimes we are so consumed with the love that we don't have that we forget to be thankful for the love that is in our lives every day.
1. You have the rest of your life for love to happen
Friends are pairing off, getting married, having babies but you are not doing any of those things. It is easier said than done but you have your whole life ahead of you. It is up to you to fully explore it. Take control of your life and create your own happiness. Your life story is not complete and love will find you in so many other ways than through a relationship when you actually start living your life. Stop focusing on what you don’t have right now and start believing that you have the power to change your circumstances.
2. Learn to love yourself
The saying goes “you won’t find love until you start loving yourself.” In so many ways this statement holds true. We spend so much time telling ourselves that we will love ourselves more once we have lost more weight, got our dream career or when we finally meet the man of our dreams. We give ourselves conditional love rather than letting our love be unconditional. We spend so much of our lives critiquing who we are, being our own worst enemy and guarding our hearts. We ultimately end up shielding love from entering our lives. Stop treating yourself as an afterthought because you are more than second best. Learn to treat yourself with the respect and love that you deserve and you will be surprised how your view on your life will change for the better.
3. Wake up and smell the coffee
Love comes in many forms and they don’t always turn into romantic relationships. If you are the type of person who turns every compliment from a guy or every date with a guy into something more than just getting to know one each other, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Not every man you meet, or that you are physically attracted too is going to be ‘the one.’ You can end up losing more than a perceived romantic relationship. A potential friendship could blossom from interactions with the people you meet. It does not have to lead to happy ever after. Just remember that you want a relationship with the best person for you and not the first person who shows up.
4. Be the best version of yourself
Rather than being afraid of the single life, fully immerse yourself in being alone. Get passionate about your life and the amazing things that you want to achieve. Make a list of everything that excites you and start pursuing that activity or goal you want to reach each day. Start dating yourself. Take yourself out to a restaurant, go to the cinema alone and get comfortable with just being in your own company. Start creating a life you want for yourself. Practice self-care. Be patient. Remain positive and you will attract everything that you want in life.
5. Love is all around you
Falling in love can be the most beautiful and fulfilling experience in the world. Romantic relationships are what many humans desire most but it is not the only form of love that we need. Love is all around us and it is up to you to fully acknowledge this fact. Sometimes we are so consumed with the love that we don’t have that we forget to be thankful for the love that is in our lives every day. Be grateful for the love you receive from your family and friends and bond more with those in your life that at times we neglect.
