32 Stories From Internet Strangers That Will Have You Looking Over Your Shoulder Constantly

First thing you must know is that my house is 130 years old, and spent 110 of those years as a funeral home. It is the perfect picture of a creepy old haunted house. The basement is unfinished, with leaky pipes, cold jagged stone walls, and a dirt floor. The room that was the mortuary in the basement is the only one with wooden walls, but due to occasional flooding has rotted out. In the middle of this room is a single, metal, rusted chair that moves around occasionally and I can’t figure out how.

I decided when I was 16 that I wanted my own bedroom, so I moved into the attic apartment. I lived for for three months – tried to at least. The problem was a girl, dying of MS, hung herself in there in 1975. Every night when I tried to sleep, there she’s be, telling me to GET OUT. I’d try sleeping with the light on, but every night I’d have a night mare of her killing me. And when I woke up the lights were off. Damn it all. I thought it was all psycological, and that if I stuck with it eventually it would pass and the apartment would be mine. No dice. Eventually gave up and because my old room had been taken over by my mother I’ve slept on the couch in what was the showing room ever since. By the window with a bullet hole in it and a player piano that like to play by itself…

Also, when I was little I was in the kitchen to get a drink. When I turned around there was a black humanoid shadow coming out of the basement. I backed up against the wall trying to scream, but was so afraid nothing would come out. I remember it walking towards me and pausing half way – then turning around and going back into the basement. Fucking house.

When I was in the 5th grade, lightning struck a 120 year old tree in my yard and was falling straight at me. I was in a part of the house that was only 1 story and should have gone straight through. Fucking thing BOUNCED of the house.

7th grade 2 in the morning bricks from the chimney cave in crushing the heating vent, causing carbon monoxide to back up into the house, which should have put us to sleep and killed us. But for some reason my dad wakes up… and wakes my mom up… who feels something is wrong and rushes us out of the house.

There is a 300 year old tree in my yard that bats like to live in. They occasionally in get, which is a bit creepy, but I can live with it. But a few years back a few got it into their heads that they would fly STRAIGHT at a window, repeatedly, killing themselves until the window broke and they could get into the house.

I was removing a ceiling – to jiggery pokery some internet for a TV/computer setup… dead mice falling on me.

My family was in niagra falls and I was home alone when I wake up at 2 in the morning to a gun fight right in front of my house. (not the window incident). Crawled under the covers to hide and call the cops and my dog wouldn’t stop barking. Eventually everything passed and I went to sleep. The next morning the cops showed up and were pulling a body bag out of a house across the street… if that had been me I wouldn’t have been found for days…

I hate my fucking house.

When my sister was maybe 3 or 4 (I would have been -3 or -2 around then), she took a nap. My mom went in the room to check on her and happened to look up at the window (we lived in an apartment on the bottom floor, and half of it was sort of under ground). Her gaze happened to land upon a man in his 30s jacking-off while watching my sister sleep. My mom screamed (I’m assuming that it was something along the lines of “Holy shit! This guy is jacking-off while watching my daughter sleep!”) and my grandmother runs out of the apartment with a butcher knife. He got away.
