I tell myself this every day: “Life isn’t happening to me, it’s happening for me.” It’s just happening a lot faster than I could have ever imagined it would. That’s the ironic thing about life as we know it: We never know if we are ready for it, and then it happens and we realize we needed every second of it once it’s over. Most of the time we look back on our biggest moments and we never want to change a thing. We look back on the times where we felt the most scared, challenged, and out of our element, and we hold those times sacred to our hearts. We keep those times forever because those moments gave us something worth keeping.
Remember that life is giving you exactly what you’re ready for. Every responsibility, heartbreak, moment of growth, and fierce change is not only something you can handle — it’s also preparing you for something much bigger.
Remember that you are strong enough to handle everything being thrown your way; you are being given these things for a reason. You’re only going to continue to get stronger, and then one day you’ll have pure strength and clarity. Things will make sense again one day even if they don’t right now.
Remember that life not only gives you what you’re ready for, but it also gives you what you need. Life has a funny way of giving us everything we need before we even know we need it. Everything you’re going through right now is a stepping stone to exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Things don’t always come in the form that you anticipate them to. They don’t always unfold in the ways you planned for them to in your head. Things also don’t often look how you want them to, but you have to trust. It takes time to adjust, to open your mind alongside your heart.
It takes bravery to step out of your comfort zone when you don’t have full confidence in your own strength yet.
On the other side of showing up every day and trying your best despite what you’re facing is a life that holds everything you’ve ever wanted.
Have faith in the process. Have faith in your plan. Remember that life gives you what you’re ready for, and in the end, it’ll be exactly what you needed all along.
