Your Daily Reminder That Love Can Happen Anywhere

  • 0
In today’s world, finding the time to find “The One” can seem particularly daunting. There’s only so much time you can devote to dating in between meeting up with your ride-or-die besties, getting some exercise, and doing your part to close the wage gap. Luckily, we’ve partnered with Bumble to remind you that you can find someone worth building a life with anywhere.

You’re a woman of distinction who enjoys a marathon pizza-eating session after a long day at work as much as she values a spirited debate. You need a guy who gets that. Someone who appreciates you in all of your empowered glory. Someone who can keep up as you strive to balance your many passions, hobbies, and social commitments. If you’re going to do the whole everlasting love thing, after all, you’re going to do it right.

The good news? It’s not the 1950s anymore. You don’t have to get gussied up and attend some fancy event to meet an eligible guy. These days, a busy girl like you with such varied pursuits can meet someone anywhere, at any hour.

The truth is, the love you deserve might be lurking right around the corner at any moment of any given day.

You might find someone in your apartment building’s basement the day you finally carve out enough time in your hectic schedule to do a few loads of laundry. You might find someone in the waiting room of your dentist’s office as you check one more item off your list of Things I Must Do Because Adulthood. You might even find them on a dating app. (These days, meeting online is the new normal.)

Maybe you’re dubious because you’ve been hitting up the laundry room and the salon for years already and you haven’t found someone special yet. Don’t be discouraged! Every day spent excelling at independence has made you more complete in yourself, and that’s more important than any man. The best way to meet someone who actually deserves you is to do you, day in and day out.

Keep hitting up that coffee shop you love, even if your customary latté costs a shocking percentage of your weekly paycheck. Keep patronizing the dive bar that makes you feel at home. Be yourself every second of every day, and the right person will eventually come along and perfectly complement your already-amazing life.

On some ordinary Wednesday afternoon, you could suddenly spot someone with a foam mustache across the café. You’ll offer them a napkin and when you lock eyes, something will just feel right. Maybe you’ll strike up a conversation with the cutie on the barstool next to yours during happy hour. You could feel that special spark when you swipe right on that good-looking person and see you’re a match. You never know!

Whatever you do, don’t settle. You deserve someone as smart, capable, and amazing as you are.TC mark

Poetry that will change you

This is for the women who are first to get naked, howl at the moon and jump into the sea. This is for the women who seek relentless joy; the ones who know how to laugh with their whole souls. The women who speak to strangers because they have no fear in their hearts. This is for the women who drink coffee at midnight and wine in the morning, and dare you to question it. This is for the women who throw down what they love, and don’t waste time following society’s pressures to exist behind a white picket fence. The women who create wildly, unbalanced, ferociously and in a blur at times. This — is for you.

“When Janne has a new poem written, I shut my life down to do nothing but read it, and then when I turn my life back on, everything is better.” — James Altucher
