This Is The Chakra That Aligns With Your Enneagram Type

We all know and love our zodiac signs, but what about our Enneagram types and the Chakras that match with who we are? Am I speaking gibberish? Probably, but hear me out.

The Enneagram

The Enneagram Test is a way in which we can identify who we are. It’s basically a personality quiz with some detailed psychological features to figure out which type you are. There are 9 types, and though normally every person is one type, anyone can have a few traits from a couple of the other types.

Type 1 – The Reformer

You are a perfectionist. You have a keen eye for detail and you strive to make things as best as they can be – and yet, they’re still not good enough in your eyes. You’re highly aware of your flaws and the flaws of others, and when you can’t fix those things, you tend to get a little upset and even a bit angry. You strive wholeheartedly to be good.

Type 2 – The Helper

You are a selfless being. You are loving and giving and your warm heart is amazing. You are also considered to be very emotional, and yeah, kinda needy too. You need to be needed. You want to help people all the time and if someone refuses your help, you get a little bossy. But that just means you care so much.

Type 3 – The Achiever

You enjoy validation. As the hard-working, competitive, self-sufficient person that you are, you strive for greatness and a sense of worth. You want to embody whatever “successful” means and you do whatever it takes to get there. If you don’t become the best of the best, then you believe you’re a loser. But hey, you’re not. You’re doing just fine.

Type 4 – The Individualist

You are unique…or so you think…or so you hope. You like to think you’re super different from others and that’s why you’re so individualistic. You tend to feel superior and if anyone challenges that power, you get a little envious and fear that you’re just flawed and people don’t like you for your flaws. You just want to be appreciated for who you are.

Type 5 – The Investigator

You tend to withdraw out of fear. You don’t believe that you have enough strength, so you protect yourself by withdrawing from any conflict. You like to observe and get lost in thought. Sometimes you neglect dealing with your feelings and emotions and keep them private because you’re afraid of confrontation.

Type 6 – The Loyalist

You tend to let your anxieties manifest. There’s a fear rooted in you. Still –  You know you can’t trust anyone but you so desperately want to, because you’re so loyal. You wait for people to prove themselves to you and then you put your trust in them and they put their trust in you. When someone challenges you, you tend to get scared and somewhat aggressive towards combatting that fear.

Type 7 – The Enthusiast

You are very enthusiastic about life! Life is an exciting adventure for you because you know how to embrace your extroverted, open-minded self and that’s why success comes so easy to you. You’re very aware of who you are and your capabilities and sometimes that can manifest into a feeling of entitlement. Modesty? You don’t know her.

Type 8 – The Challenger

You like to take charge! You don’t like being controlled and you would prefer to have power over others because you want to be the masters of your own fate. You are tough-minded and strong-willed and while that can be great, it’s not always healthy. You know what you want and you want to go out and get it, but sometimes your control issues can be a bit much sometimes that’s when some anger comes out. Yikes.

Type 9 – The Peacemaker

You tend to avoid conflict at all costs. You like harmony in every area of your life and you tend to withdraw from things that don’t provide you with the peace you want. Still, you are pretty optimistic towards life and seek comfort. You don’t give yourself enough credit and you fear that others don’t either, and that’s where your sadness comes in.

Chakras

Chakras are spiritual powers in our body. If you can identify which type you are, you can also identify which Chakra you connect with. There are 7 Chakras, and when you figure out which Chakra is “yours”, you can also do a healing for that specific one (in case it’s blocked).

1. Root Chakra

The Root Chakra is the foundation of who you are and how you stay grounded.

What’s blocking the free flowing energy from this Chakra? The fear of not having money or being able to survive and not taking time for self-care.

How do you heal? The Root Chakra is located on the tailbone, so do some yoga to open up your lower spine. Your color is red, so eat some red-colored foods (apples, red peppers, red meat) or vegetables from the ground.

2. Sacral Chakra

The Sacral Chakra is your connection with others and being a part of new experiences.

What’s blocking the free flowing energy from this Chakra? The fear of not communicating with the people who mean the most to you. Not getting pleasure or a sense of abundance in sexual experiences.

How do you heal? The Sacral chakra is the area of the lower abdomen, so pelvic thrusts or the Cobra yoga pose is the best way to heal. Your color is orange, so eat oranges and tangerines and nuts, too.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus Chakra is how you have control and confidence.

What’s blocking the free flowing energy from this Chakra? Low self-esteem and lack of confidence and struggling to accept yourself as who you are.

How do you heal? The Solar Plexus Chakra is found in the stomach so dance, dance, dance! Your color is yellow, so eat corn and foods with fiber (granola and whole wheat bread) and drink teas that soothe the stomach (peppermint and chamomile).

4. Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra is your ability to love.

What’s blocking the free flowing energy from this Chakra? Lack of lover and inner peace.

How do you heal? The Heart Chakra is located just above the heart, so the best way for you to heal is to do some hot yoga or just open up your heart to others. Your color is green, so drink some green tea. It makes everything better.

5. Throat Chakra

The Throat Chakra is your ability (or inability) to communicate.

What’s blocking the free flowing energy from this Chakra? Communication issues, like keeping secrets or lacking the ability to express your feelings.

How do you heal? The Throat Chakra is located in the throat, obviously, and the best thing you can do for yourself is to adjust your posture and sing! Your color is blue – which is a nice and fresh color – so drink juice and tea and eat lots of fruit.

6. Third Eye Chakra

The Third Eye Chakra is your ability (or inability) to see the big picture of things.

What’s blocking the free flowing energy from this Chakra? You struggle to make decisions or follow your intuition.

How do you heal? The Third Eye Chakra is located in between the eyes. If you want to change your perspective on things and heal yourself, do the Child’s Pose in yoga. Your color is indigo, so eat chocolate and drink lavender tea.

7. Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is your connection with the spiritual world and pure, utter bliss.

What’s blocking the free flowing energy from this Chakra? The fear of not feeling blissful and beautiful.

How do you heal? The Crown Chakra is at the very top of our head. Your color is violet, and the best thing you can do to heal yourself is to meditate.

So…what’s your type? What’s your Chakra?

If you are The Reformer or The Achiever or The Enthusiast, you need to heal your Root Chakra (1) and your Heart Chakra (4) to develop feelings and compassion. To do this, do some hot yoga to open up your spine.

If you are The Helper, you need to heal your Root Chakra (1) and your Crown Chakra (7) to ground yourself and focus on your own needs. To do this, meditate and do some basic yoga poses.

If you are The Individualist or The Investigator, you need to heal your Root Chakra (1), your Solar Plexus Chakra (3), and your Heart Chakra (4) to be present and realize how important it is to be compassionate and how important it is to be assertive. To do this, do hot yoga or dance!

If you are The Loyalist, you need to heal your Root Chakra (1), your Solar Plexus Chakra (3), and your Third Eye Chakra (6) to learn how to be more grounded and to gain a better insight on life. To do this, focus on Child’s Pose in yoga to stretch out and open up your spine.

If you are The Challenger, you need to heal your Heart Chakra (4), your Third Eye Chakra (6), and your Crown Chakra (7) to learn how to be kind, develop insight, and think deeper. To do this, meditate.

If you are The Peacemaker, you need to heal your Sacral Chakra (2), your Solar Plexus Chakra (3), your Throat Chakra (5), and your Crown Chakra (7) to be more passionate and focus on self-expression and self-awareness. You can do a lot to this: pelvic thrusts, Cobra yoga pose, adjusting your posture, and meditating.

Will yoga fix everything? Not really, but it’ll definitely help. Take the time to figure out who you are and what Chakra you need to heal. It’ll be good for you. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
