The preceding ellipses was me silently shaking my head as I pondered the sheer breadth of the madness that you, my readers, feel the need to bombard me with on an almost constant basis. Every day, it’s some new internet oddity:
Everything from a vaguely erotic video of a Polish girl cutting into an apple for five uninterrupted minutes to the midnight vlogs of a self-professed “psychic vampire” to one of my personal favorites, an entire forum on Buffy the Vampire Slayer that has over 3,000 unique topic-threads and only one active user.
That user is also the site’s owner and de facto moderator who goes by the screenname “Xanderfan81” and as the forum’s moderator, it is up to the sole discretion of Xanderfan81 to accept or decline new user registrations. The site has been public for almost two decades now and in all that time, Xanderfan81 has yet to accept a single additional person onto their forum.
There was a rumor going around that Joss Whedon himself even applied once, providing proof and everything, and even he got turned down. Though, I doubt that last bit actually happened.
