I Hosted A Late Night Radio Show In College And I Received Some Creepy And Bizarre Phone Calls That Continue To Haunt Me Today
Due to the particular subject matter that I tend to write about, over the years I have collected (for lack of a less pretentious term) a plethora of “true scary stories” from people of all walks of life. And this was going to be my attempt at cataloging some of my personal favorites.
“…and chew out your eyeballs,” the adult Kate mimicked in a raspy voice.
“Holy expletive, Batman.”
“And I wish I was making that up. I WISH I was that creative. Not to mention the whole thing seriously screwed with me as a child.”
“How so?”
“Aside from the fact that it was a severely disturbing experience?”
“Naturally.”
“Well, my two best friends never talked to me again and I started experiencing night terrors that eventually got so bad they had to put me in counseling which I’m pretty sure was one of the root causes of my parents’ divorce. Not to mention that, at the age of fourteen, I suddenly had to make a decision no teenager should ever have to face: Either A, I could believe I was crazy… That I and my friends had simply shared some kind of mass hallucination brought on by group hysteria… Or B, that there really is an afterlife. Some form of existence beyond death, and it’s filled with stuff like what we saw that night… Honestly, when those are your only options, you HOPE it’s A.”
I laughed into the microphone and said, “I certainly would.”
But of course I knew better, as my listeners would soon discover for themselves.
