Dolly Parton Announces Health Concerns, Postpones Las Vegas Shows

By

Dolly Parton announced on Sunday night (September 28) that she will postpone her planned Las Vegas concerts at Caesars Palace in December. Why? Sadly health concerns.

The 79-year-old singer shared the news in a statement on Instagram. She said her doctors told her she needs several medical procedures, making it impossible to prepare for the shows.

Statement from Dolly

In her message to fans, Parton wrote:

I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so l can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.

What does this mean for her Las Vegas shows?

The Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum was scheduled for six nights in December. The concerts are now being moved to September 2026. Tickets had been selling at a premium. On secondary markets, some seats were listed for around $1,500.

Here are the new dates. Old date is in regular text; the new date is in bold.

  • Thursday, December 4, 2025 to Thursday, September 17, 2026
  • Saturday, December 6, 2025 to Saturday, September 19, 2026
  • Sunday, December 7, 2025 to Sunday, September 20, 2026
  • Wednesday, December 10, 2025 to Wednesday, September 23, 2026
  • Friday, December 12, 2025 to Friday, September 25, 2026
  • Saturday, December 13, 2025 to Saturday, September 26, 2026

Bigger Picture

Here is the thing: Dolly Parton did not give any specific details about her health condition. She has been “dealing with some health challenges,” and her doctors told her she “must have a few procedures.” She made it 100% clear that this was not plastic surgery.

So what are we to think of this? Is Dolly sick? Is her health rapidly declining? I suppose, right now, we can just assume that there is nothing serious here. She just needs to slow down for now, but if the Las Vegas shows are postponed again in 2026, we might start to get really worried about Dolly.

In the meantime, we’re wishing her a speedy recovery. Love you, Dolly!
