Amazon has a lot of critically acclaimed sci-fi this month. Below I’ll list the best ones, but before we do that here are the links to some other great sc-fi that is included with Prime Video right now.

Okay, anyway, onto my list of the best ones. Let’s do it.

Dark City (1998)

Why Watch It? An atmospheric neo-noir sci-fi film for lovers of sci-fi fans that love powerful world-building and gripping mystery. A classic film from the late 90s.

Synopsis: A man wakes up with no memory in a city where the sun never rises, pursued by shadowy beings who manipulate reality at will. As he pieces together his past, he discovers the shocking truth about the nature of the world he inhabits.

Donnie Darko (2001)

Why Watch It? A time travel movie? A teenage horror movie? A superhero movie? Donnie Darko defies genre and it’s one of the most interesting films ever made, and lucky for us it’s free with Amazon right now.

Synopsis: A troubled teenager with a funny name (Donnie Darko) begins experiencing visions of a sinister figure in a rabbit costume. As he unravels cryptic messages about time travel and fate, he’s forced to question reality and his own sanity.

Mr. Nobody (2009)

Why Watch It? Jared Leto. But also because Mr. Nobody offers a fascinating sci-fi exploration of life’s “what if” moments. The film weaves together multiple timelines and possibilities, creating a rich tapestry of human choices and their consequences.

Synopsis: In a distant future, the last mortal human reflects on his past, recalling multiple versions of his life that hinge on the smallest decisions. As he navigates alternate timelines, the question arises—what is real, and what could have been?

Coherence (2013)

Why Watch It? A sci-fi thriller sure to mess your brain up. This is top of the line cerebral sci-fi, and if you love science + weird moves, this film is calling your name.
