All About INFJ, The Rarest Personality Type

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test (MBTI) is a self-report questionnaire anyone can take online. It indicates the psychological preferences in how people make decisions and view the world. There are sixteen different Myers-Briggs personality types. The rarest of all the different personality types is the INFJ. They make up only 1.5 percent of the population. The letters INFJ stand for: introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging. This personality type is commonly called the counselor, the idealist, or the advocate. Although this is the rarest personality type, it’s also one of the best.

INFJs are introverted, which means they take a long time to warm up to new people. They are excellent listeners, but they will only speak when they feel comfortable. INFJs don’t want to reveal too much before they get to know someone, so they appear shy and reserved. Despite their introversion, they are fun and outspoken once they get to know you. INFJs have a tight group of close friends that they would do anything for. Their compassion is one of their greatest qualities.

INFJs are compassionate empaths. They care deeply about the people around them and have strong values. This is why they are always helping others. They’re the type of person who cannot stand to see a stranger in need. Their emotional side will get the best of them, and they will use their ideas to help in whatever ways they can. Their biggest goal in life is to change the world. They desire peace for the future.

The INFJ personality type is associated with intuition, feeling, and judging. This is because they are planners, organizers, and deep thinkers. However, sometimes, their plans change. Instead of thinking through things in a logical way, an INFJ will let their emotions guide their decisions. They are sensitive and can sense when something is wrong with friends or family.

INFJS are also incredibly creative. They have a huge imagination and can create beautiful pieces of art. They tend to enter artistic careers or careers that involve helping people. An INFJ will often make wonderful psychiatrists, family physicians, and nutritionists. Even though being an INFJ is rare, you’re not alone. Some of the best actors and singers out there are an INFJ. Here are a few: Mohandas Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, Emily Bronte, Jane Goodall, and Jimmy Carter.

Weaknesses and Negative Personality Traits

The INFJ personality type cannot stand conflict. It’s in their nature to avoid arguments and stressful situations. In friendships and relationships, an INFJ would rather ignore problems than focus on whatever is wrong. Of course, this could cause the problem to grow worse over time. INFJs need to learn to share their feelings, because their thoughts matter, too.

INFJs cannot stand criticism. They grow defensive whenever anyone brings up a mistake they’ve made. They are perfectionists, so they don’t want to settle for anything less than the best. Unfortunately, this mindset is dangerous. They will keep pushing themselves until they succeed because they don’t want to feel like a failure. Their personality makes it hard for them to relax. They’re prone to burnout.
