Whether you’re creating an account on Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat, you want to pick something adorable, something memorable, something that will encourage others to follow you. If you can’t come up with anything that feels unique enough, here are some cute usernames you can use in order to stand out from the crowd:

1. Combine your name with something adorable.

Chances are, your real name is already taken — but you can still use it as long as you get creative. Combine your name with cute words like angel, princess, sugar, honey, bubbles, or butterfly. You could also think about throwing a few numbers at the end of your name that are relevant to you in some way. You could use the date you got hired for your dream job, the date you started dating your person, or the date you were born.

2. Include your favorites in your username.

Pick a line from a song that always makes you tear up when it plays on the radio. Pick your favorite character on television, the one you have always considered a role model. Pick your favorite couple from literature who makes you swoon with jealousy. Pick your favorite food, color, or vacation spot. Choose something, anything, that is meaningful to you.

3. Explain the type of content you plan on uploading in a cutesy way.

If you want strangers to follow your social media, you should let them know what they’re going to see from you. Use your username in order to explain what kind of content you’re going to post. If you mostly upload photos of your dog, pick something like PawPics. If you’re mostly going to post about food, then try something like EyeHeartFood.

4. Use alliteration to amp up the adorableness.

If you want to choose a username others are going to remember, you should focus on picking words that sound good together. Instead of ClassyPrincess, use ClassyQueen. Instead of AlwaysFashionable, use ForeverFashionable. The more alliteration, the better. It’s easier for others to remember when they want to look you up — and much more fun to say!

5.  Rhyme two words together.

Try rhyming your name (or your nickname) with something cute. If that doesn’t work out, then choose any other meaningful word — or a word that you simply love saying aloud — and see if it rhymes with anything cute. You can choose a username like MissBliss, EmotionCommotion, or ShadyLady. Test out different combinations to see what works for you.

6. Use other languages to say what you’ve been struggling to say.

There are beautiful words being spoken across the world. If you can’t come up with anything cute enough in English, then try tossing a French word or phrase into your username. It doesn’t matter if anyone else knows what it means as long as you know — and as long as it sounds pretty.

7. Use descriptive personality words.

Think about the adjectives your friends use to describe you. Do they call you intelligent? Introverted? Optimistic? Passionate? Insert those words into your username in order to personalize it. That way, your audience will be able to tell what kind of person you are before they even scroll through your pictures and posts.

8. Combine two things you love.

List out the things you love the most in this world. Use the names of your pets, your hobbies, or your favorite foods. Once you have a list together, try combining two or three elements to test what sounds cutest together. Try something like CupcakeCoffee or ReadingKittens. Sometimes, the silliest sounding names are the most adorable — and most intriguing. They will make others want to click on your page to see who you are. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
