A Love Letter To The Girl Who Keeps Falling Out Of Love With Herself

Dear You,

I’m writing you this letter because I want you to know that I love you extra today.

It’s one of our special days where we don’t mind eating that second serving of pancake, smothering it with butter, drowning it in maple syrup, and still feel good about our body.

Today, we laughed a little harder because of some funny meme we randomly saw on Instagram. We also managed not to feel crazy insecure about the new selfie Kendall Jenner posted on her feed.

Oh, did you notice? We pinned more inspirational quotes on Pinterest too instead of our usual sad ones. We might have even shared a screenshot or two to our group chat. Let’s face it, someone usually needs a little wink of positivity in our circle to get through the day. Yesterday, it was you!

Also, good job on your lipstick choice this morning. Brick red did the trick. I feel really pretty. And don’t worry, it’s totally fine that you took a selfie and posted it on your Insta Story. I love that you didn’t care what the others might think. Have we officially identified who these “others” are?

Anyway, thanks for playing our HappySongs2020 playlist the entire commute to work. I’m glad you kept it real and still added Thank U, Next on the list.

By the way, thank you for taking time to remove your makeup before hitting the sheets. You did us a solid. Our skin feels amazing. I love our #clearskin moments! Oh, and thanks for taking that one last selfie. You’ll never know when we’ll need to look back on these for some extra boost of confidence.

Well, okay you, before you close your eyes, I just want to tell you again that I love you extra today.

Tomorrow, we might feel the need to drop the word “extra” from that phrase, but that doesn’t mean we feel the extreme opposite. No, we don’t hate ourself.

Our brain just does this funny thing sometimes where it decides to create scenarios that will never really happen IRL but will still manage to make us a little mad, feel insecure, and put on blast SadSongs2020 for the rest of the day.

Don’t worry, I understand how you feel.

But I just want you to know, that even if you don’t feel like adding the word “extra” tomorrow, I love you today will always be available.

Now, repeat that 10 more times.

Now, believe it.

Goodnight, You. Today was amazing.

Lovingly yours,

You
