If You Want A Happier Life, You Need To Trust Yourself More

You need to trust yourself more. You need to stop second guessing yourself, stop doubting yourself, stop assuming you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about — because you’re wiser than you realize. You have a good head on your shoulders. You aren’t as hopeless as you sometimes feel. You need to stop looking at everyone else for guidance because you can figure out things on your own. You can carve your own path, create your own future. You have what it takes.

You need to believe in yourself more. You need to take more chances. You need to seize more opportunities. You need to trust that you have what it takes to succeed. You shouldn’t assume you’re going to fail before you even try. You shouldn’t assume the worst is going to happen to you. You need to grow your confidence. You need to learn how to say, “I can do this,” because you can. You’re stronger than you realize. You’re more capable than you know.

You need to respect yourself more. You need to stop treating yourself like a punching bag, stop feeling like a failure, stop acting like there is something irreparably wrong with you. You need to start treating yourself more like a friend and less like an enemy. You need to start seeing the beauty deep within yourself because self-hatred isn’t going to get you anywhere. You deserve the world. And you deserve to realize that.

You need to love yourself more. You need to go easier on yourself when you make a mistake, when you say the wrong thing, when you mess up your plans. You need to give yourself a break. You need to stop criticizing yourself. There are so many beautiful things about you, but you’re too distracted by your few flaws to see them. And you cannot let that type of negative thinking continue. You cannot be this mean to the person you see in the mirror. You need to change the way you think about yourself because you deserve love — especially from yourself.

You need to forgive yourself more. You aren’t always going to make the right decisions, and that’s okay. You’re only human. Even though you might have caused pain you wish you could take back, you don’t have to hate yourself over it for the rest of your life. You can grow from your past. You can become a better person. As long as you understand what you’ve done wrong, and are trying to learn from it, you shouldn’t punish yourself forever. You should accept what happened and move forward.

You need to treat yourself more. You need to celebrate your small victories. You need to give yourself a pat on the back. You don’t want to dwell on every single mistake you’ve made throughout your life and ignore all of the beautiful things you’ve accomplished. Stop every once in a while to think about how far you’ve come. Be proud of yourself, because you’re doing so much better than you realize. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
