In 2020, Stop Letting Your Overthinking Win

In 2020, stop letting your overthinking win. Stop assuming you said the wrong thing in every conversation. Stop assuming every person who is kind to you is only playing pretend. Stop assuming you’re never going to get what you want in life because you aren’t smart enough or pretty enough or rich enough. Stop being such a skeptic and start trusting more in yourself. Your problem is you don’t give yourself nearly enough credit. You aren’t able to see the beauty within yourself. But maybe, with enough time, you’ll be able to change that. Maybe you’ll be able to recognize your own worth.

In 2020, break free from your comfort zone. If you’re unhappy with an area of your life, then change it. Don’t sit around, hoping things will magically get better, because you’re in charge of your own destiny. You get to set the course for your future. You can’t procrastinate and you can’t leave it up to fate because you have to make the right decisions for yourself. You have to take action. Otherwise, nothing is going to change. You’re going to feel exactly the same next year as you’ve felt this year. You’re going to continue to have the same problems, the same complaints, the same worries.

In 2020, stop isolating yourself in order to protect yourself. Stop assuming you’re better off on your own. Stop hiding away in your bedroom and ignoring texts because you feel like you’re too awkward to socialize, because you’re worried everyone is going to make fun of you, because you’re scared to leave the bubble you’ve created for yourself. Get out there and make more friends, make more memories, make more mistakes.

In 2020, give yourself more credit. Compliment yourself more. Take more risks. Instead of giving up before you even try because you feel like failure is imminent, take a shot for a change. Take a chance on yourself. Believe in your talents. Believe in your potential. Ignore all of the people doubting you. Ignore the nasty voice in the back of your own mind. Tell yourself you can do anything you set your mind to, and if you fail, you can always try again. It’s never the end. You can always keep going.

In 2020, stop thinking the worst. Stop assuming other people are out to get you. Stop assuming you’re bound to fail. Stop assuming everyone is going to let you down. Stop assuming everything is going to go wrong. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t earn your dream job or meet your dream person or take your dream vacation this year. Stop assuming you’re going to be miserable because this year might be the greatest year of your life.

In 2020, stop selling yourself short. Stop assuming you don’t have anything valuable to offer this world. Stop treating yourself like a punching bag. You deserve so much more than you’ve been telling yourself. You deserve to experience excitement. You deserve to experience self-love. You deserve to have a great start to this new decade.
