If You Cheat On Me, You Won't Get A Second Chance

If You Cheat On Me, You Won’t Get A Second Chance

If you cheat on me, it doesn’t matter whether you have an excuse. It doesn’t matter whether you swear it’s never going to happen again. It doesn’t matter whether you promise to make it up to me by being the best boyfriend possible, the boyfriend you should have been all along.

If you cheat on me, it doesn’t matter whether it was only a one-time thing. It doesn’t matter if you stopped after a kiss because of how guilty you were feeling. It doesn’t matter whether you were sleeping together or making out or flirting over text. It doesn’t matter how far things went because you crossed the line either way.

If you cheat on me, it doesn’t matter whether you were experiencing a moment of weakness. It doesn’t matter if you were feeling insecure. It doesn’t matter if we hadn’t gotten intimate in a while. It doesn’t matter if infidelity was normalized for you because your parents cheated on each other all the time or because your friends cheat on their spouses.

If you cheat on me, I’m not going to make you choose between me and the other woman. I’m not going to give you ultimatums to fulfill if you want to keep me around. I’m not going to fight for you or our relationship. There won’t be a relationship anymore. There won’t be an us anymore. There will only be you, sad and alone.

If you cheat on me, I’m not going to demand an explanation or an apology. I’m not going to scream at you about how much I’ve done for you and how you’re throwing it all away. I’m not going to slash your tires. I’m not going to toss your clothes out the window. I’m not going to burn your shit. I’m not going to badmouth you on social media. I’m not going to set out to get revenge on you — because you’re going to be miserable enough without me. You’re going to wish you never screwed me over, without me having to do a thing except press block on your number and name.

If you cheat on me, it’s over. No second chances. No screaming matches. No forgiveness. No looking back.

If you cheat on me, you’re never going to see me again. You’re not going to get a chance to win me back. You’re not going to get a chance to prove you’re different now. You’re not going to get a chance to show me how sorry you are about the mistakes you’ve made in the past.

If you cheat on me, I’m going to find someone new. I’m going to find someone who respects me. I’m going to find someone who would never risk losing me over a fling with another woman. Better than that, I’m going to find someone who would never even want to have a fling with another woman. I’m going to find someone who believes I’m more than enough. Someone who values my time and attention. Someone who would never dare break my heart. Someone who wants me and only me. Forever. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
