16. Someone called me whenever I was home alone

When I moved into my new neighborhood at 16, I started getting phone calls from a private number. They’d call and wouldn’t say a word.

This isn’t that big of a deal on it’s own, but they’d call only when I was home alone. If any of my younger siblings were home, no phone call. I did school online and my mother stayed home with me and the teeny siblings, so someone had to have been watching.

17. A random woman called for help

At the office after hours, alone. Phone rang, picked it up to a woman frantically screaming “You gotta help me!” -click- Never found out who it was or what it was about.

18. A broken phone started ringing

Story time. I live in an old stagecoach stop in Texas. There was an mid 20th century phone bell outside that would ring if the home line rang inside so if you were doing yard work you could tell if someone was calling. Anyways, my father cut the line years before I was born. One night I was outside coming in from taking a walk when my dad was out of town and the thing rang. At first I thought it was a prank or something and then I remembered that my father cut the cord going to it. I panicked and went inside to check the phone to make sure. The phone was static and I freaked out even more and ran to my room and jumped under the covers. I still have no explanation for what happened that night.

19. A man threatened to murder my father

I got a call one time when I was little and when I answered, a guy said my father’s name in a deep voice. I was so confused and barely got out a ‘what’ before he yelled my father’s full name followed by a death threat into the phone and hung up. The number had an area code for a completely different state.
