Ranking The Couples On This Season Of ‘Love is Blind’

*Spoilers*

By

Mason and Meg ended their relationship on Love is Blind but previews for the rest of the season hint that the two hit it off again off camera.

Love is Blind is a show that dares to ask the question “will hot people like other hot people if they date through a wall before meeting each other in person?” This season, the contestants hail from Minneapolis and after dating in the pods, five couples have emerged. The audience will follow their journey to a tropical vacation in Honduras before they return to Minneapolis to live together and potentially say “I do” in the season finale.

Here are the couples of Love is Blind season 8, ranked from best to worst:

Joey Leveille & Monica Danus

Joey is a self-described “golden retriever” man and Monica is a family-oriented digital marketer. The two bonded over interests like The Sound of Music and swing dancing and got along effortlessly both before and after meeting. Joey and Monica were the first to get engaged and are the strongest couple overall.

Potential foils:

  • In the preview for the next episode drop, Joey tells Monica about his OCD diagnosis and she seems less than understanding.
  • Joey’s family tells Monica that he goes for blondes “without fail”, which may cause brunette Monica to become insecure or question their bond.
  • In the preview, Monica’s friends or family also warn her that Joey “seems like a good actor”, questioning his true intentions.

Devin Buckley & Virginia Miller

Devin and Virginia could have been high school sweethearts if not for the age difference, they both graduated from the same high school five years apart. These two sweeties seem genuine, they both want a healthy marriage and to become a loving family with children. Devin even showed he was ready to open up, confiding his past addiction struggles to Virginia before the two became engaged.

Potential foils:

  • In the next set of episodes, Devin will meet Brittany who he also had a connection with in the pods. He tells Brittany that talking to her seems so “easy and comfortable”, hinting that it’s not so with his partner, Virginia.

Ben Mezzenga & Sara Carton

Is there any more pure love than the love a child has for the steak their dad cooks? Ben and Sara share this love and hopefully viewers will be treated to the promised dad steak competition. They also bonded over childhood nostalgia and the hope that they can play each other in Call of Duty one day.

Potential foils:

  • Ben goes to church every Sunday, Sara is suspicious of Christianity due to her close relationship with her gay sister.
  • There has been a lot of online chatter about Ben Mezzenga’s reputation as a f*ckboy around town in Minneapolis.
  • Ben’s “I don’t follow that stuff” answer to Sara’s question about how he felt about local police brutality victim George Floyd didn’t seem earnest or a match with how Sara wanted a potential partner to feel.

Dave Bettenburg & Lauren O’Brien

Every season of Love is Blind has an asshole, and this season that asshole is Dave. From the jump Dave negs Lauren about her age, fertility and attractiveness and jokes that he runs an Only Fans account (exactly what you want to hear from your potential life partner). Lauren seems like a sweet woman who is just naive enough to believe Dave when he says that though he’s been “an ass to women” in the past, he’s definitely planning on changing. Overall, Dave and Lauren do seem compatible, but Dave might be too toxic for this couple to work.

Molly Mullaney from Love is Blind season 8.

Potential foils:

  • Dave’s personality. In the preview for the next few episodes Dave continues to neg his fiancée, joking that he dislikes her hair.
  • Will Dave experience FOMO over his decision to choose Lauren over Molly?
  • Dave’s drama with his sister.
  • There’s no way Dave isn’t going to start negging Lauren’s “eff the patriarchy” tattoo.

Daniel Hastings & Taylor Haag

Daniel and Taylor seemed like they had a real shot. The two had some serendipitous moments of connection over common interests. However, at the very end of episode 6 Taylor talked to the cameras about how something didn’t feel right with Daniel. She believes she recognized him from an Instagram follow. This could be relatively benign, but in Taylor’s mind it calls the whole relationship into question as 1) he could have forced their connection along by repeating interest in things he learned from her Instagram and 2) he already knew what she looked like, hence the “love is blind” portion of the experiment doesn’t exist. The biggest risk factor here is how over it Taylor looked in this scene while confronting Daniel, it doesn’t seem like the couple will move forward to Honduras.

Potential foils:

  • Will Daniel’s Insta follow tank the relationship?

Mason Horacek & Meg Fink

This couple seemed MFEO (made for each other) as they bonded over common interests in conspiracy theories, aliens, Bob Lazar and all manner of internet k-holes. However, Mason also had a connection with Madison Errichiello, which left Meg unsure whether she was Mason’s first choice. Ultimately, the couple did not move forward. However, previews for the rest of the season hint that Mason and Meg hit it off again outside of the pods.

Potential foils:

  • Even if Mason and Meg become a couple, will they survive watching the show back and seeing Mason refer to Meg as his “#2”?
  • Mason chose his cologne based on a Johnny Depp ad which is not exactly a relationship green flag.
  • Madison could get between them again.

Alex Brown & Madison Errichiello

Everything seemed to be going great for Alex and Madison until Madison told her boyfriend that his friend Mason had been a little weird and rude to her. Alex’ defense of Mason unsettled Madison and the two ended up deciding they weren’t ready for engagement and were going to leave the pods separately.

Potential foils:

  • They didn’t leave together, so we don’t know if they have any interest in dating outside the pods. This one might be done.
