This Woman Meant To Send A Photo Of Her Engagement Ring To Her Sister, But She Accidentally Texted A Celebrity Instead

Imagine trying to text your family members to tell them about the most exciting news of your life only to realize that you got the wrong number. Oh yeah, and that wrong number belonged to one of your favorite childhood actresses. Is it really a mistake if it’s honestly one of the best things that’s ever happened to you?

Charlyn Willis had just gotten engaged when she typed out a message to her sister to drop the big news. Except, in her excitement, she typed in the wrong number. It would be an embarrassing mistake if it hadn’t turned out to be, well, an amazing mistake.

You see, this “wrong number” wasn’t just anyone’s — it was Sarah Michelle Gellar’s, the star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and wife of ’90s teen heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr.). And how did Sarah respond? By posting a great big “congrats” on Facebook.

In the caption, she wrote:

This is #CharlynWillis. She got engaged yesterday, and meant to text her sister, but in all the excitement, got me instead. Her sister didn’t respond, but I did. So please help me say congrats, to Charlyn. (And her fiancé whose name I don’t know) #congratulations

Okay, that’s a pretty cool engagement announcement if you ask me. I’m honestly not sure who’s luckier  — Charlyn or Sarah.

And in case you were wondering, yes, Charlyn plans to invite Sarah and the whole fam to her wedding once she sets the date.

Congrats op the (very lucky) bride on her awesome engagement and hopefully her brand new friendship with the real life Buffy. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
