Terrible movies that are totally awesome are the kind you either won't admit to liking, or proclaim you like because you're trying to be ironic. Terrible movies that are totally awesome are movies with cheesy-ass special effects, sensational plots and an extreme disregard for reality. Terrible movies are terrible, but they're also awesome.
6. The Cutting Edge (1992)

The Cutting Edge was a pretty corny movie, starring a group of actors that no one really sees around anymore, but for some reason I was somewhat obsessed with it when I was a little boy. D.B. Sweeney, one of the two main characters, starred in some other movie about being abducted by aliens but I can’t think of anything he’s played other than that, probably because this movie ruined his career because it’s so terrible. But, there’s some endearing, innocent aspect to this movie – the soap opera drama, the playful bashfulness of the hockey-player-gone-figure-skater, the betrayal, the regret, all marinated in the happy-go-lucky naïveté of the 90s – that makes The Cutting Edge just as awesome as it is terrible.
