Why You Need To Let Yourself Move Forward

Nothing they can say or do will change anything that happened between the two of you. There is no going back. What once was will never be again.

There is not a do-over. You cannot return to start and pretend that it never happened. If you truly want the chance to begin again, you have to stop trying to go backwards. You have to move forward. You have to put one foot in front of the other. You have to confidently say that where you are right now is not where you want to be.

You have to believe in yourself enough to see a light at the end of the tunnel, even on the days when the darkness makes the end appear invisible. You have to make the light in your darkness and stop waiting for someone else to flip the switch for you.

You have to move on. You have to let them go. What’s been said has been said. What’s been done has been done. There is nothing that either one of you could ever do to change that now.

Your past is behind you for a reason.

Leave it there.

Let it go.

Remember that just because you experienced something once does not mean that it will be back to haunt you again and again and again. The present and the future are not the past.

Your present is now.

Your future is later.

Your past is gone,

And you have to let it go.

If it was meant to be yours, it would be. You do not have to live inside of this pain forever. You do not have to make a home there. Your present and your future are both here waiting to greet you.

You can begin again, but you cannot start over from the exact same place you first began. Starting over means beginning something new. It does not mean returning to what you once had in hopes of things going better this time. Give yourself the chance to begin again and to make new memories. Give yourself the chance to create real change in your life.

You cannot learn from your mistakes if you are constantly going back to them.

Let it out.

Let it go.

And let it be.
