I Can’t Wait For The Day When We Finally Get Our Answers

God & Man

I can’t wait for the day when we know the reason behind ‘everything happens for a reason.’ I can’t for the day when this reason makes more sense than our excuses. I can’t wait for the day we say it was a blessing that we didn’t get what we wished for.

I can’t wait for the day when rejection makes sense. When we understand that we were just being redirected to something better. When we learn why we didn’t get that job or didn’t end up with that person. I can’t wait for the day when we finally stop blaming ourselves for people’s actions. When we stop taking rejection personally and when we thank the person who rejected us because they allowed us to find something greater, something more meaningful, something more beautiful.

I can’t wait for the day when we finally feel good enough. When we realize that we’re not broken or damaged or pathetic. When we understand that our lives took a different path because the path we wanted wasn’t going to get us anywhere. It was going to lead us to a dead-end.

I can’t wait for the day when we finally learn to accept and love our journeys. The ups and downs. The bad and the good. The failures and successes. I can’t wait for the day we look back and say that we’re proud of our lives and ourselves. That we’re proud of our battles and our scars. That we’re proud of our stories because they’re no longer tragedies. We found our happy ending.

I can’t wait for the day when we end up with the right partners. The ones who make us laugh at the days we thought we’d never find them. The ones who make us realize why it never worked out with anyone else. The ones who justify our previous heart breaks. The ones we thought we’d never get. The ones we thought would never love us. I can’t wait for the day when we finally say this is the love we deserve. This is it and it was worth the wait.

I can’t wait for the day when we understand God. When we comprehend his plans. When we understand the twist in our stories. When we figure out why he sent certain people and why he took them away. When we look up and apologize for the nights we complained and the nights we didn’t believe in him. I can’t wait for the day when we reach the highest degrees of faith and gratitude because we learned that God will always know better. He will always make it easier. He will always answer our prayers.

I can’t wait for the day when life makes sense but until then, I’ll try to live with the questions, the chaos and the days when everything just doesn’t make sense. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
