It’s Okay To Change
Every detour, roadblock, and crossroads that you will encounter will bring you one step closer to where you're meant to end up.
The thing about change is that it doesn’t just happen overnight. It occurs gradually. You’re changing every time you get up, but you really can’t feel it. Your alarm clock doesn’t tell you what, exactly, has changed about you. It takes quite a while before you can notice what’s different in the way you see things, in the way you behave, in the way you interact with everyone.
Some moments you look back and somehow miss the person that you were before. But life is all about moving forward and changing all the time. When you change, it only means you’re growing and wanting brighter things for yourself. You’re allowing your world to expand, to become more diverse, to be full of never-ending ambitions.
And if there’s one thing you should always remember, it’s the truth that it’s okay to change. You are entitled to change.
It’s okay if you’ve outgrown the people you used to hang out with. It’s okay to let go of the ones who don’t have the same values that you have anymore. It’s okay if people come in and out of your life.
Someday you’re going to be in different places and you’re going to meet friends whom you will share the same visions in life and will want to go on the same journey with you. Someday you will no longer have to say goodbye because by then you will already have the people whom you know will stay in your life until you’re old.
It’s okay to leave the place that doesn’t excite you anymore. You have the right to explore, to search for temporary shelters, to never ever settle down until you’re absolutely positive that you have found an environment that’s going to give you endless opportunities and sense of security. You can pack your bags and move to the other side of the world to experience the life that you think is best for you.
Every detour, roadblock, and crossroads that you will encounter will bring you one step closer to where you’re meant to end up.
It’s okay to change and abandon the old beliefs that don’t work out for you anymore. It’s okay to replace your identity with the new one that you are proud of. This is your journey and you can change what you don’t like about yourself without giving so many explanations to the world. You can evolve anytime that you want and not have to wait for the perfect time.
You shouldn’t feel guilty for changing. You don’t owe anyone an apology for wanting to start somewhere new. You don’t have to worry about someone’s reaction for your decision to be different.
It’s okay to put your ambitions first over everyone’s vision for you. It’s okay to listen to your own thoughts. It’s okay to believe that your voice is important.
There’s nothing wrong with thinking that your feelings are relevant. There’s nothing wrong in going after what you deserve. And there’s nothing wrong with letting your heart guide you to beautiful places in life.
Change is a wonderful thing and you should be proud of continually welcoming it in your life. Change shows you that you aren’t the same person that you were yesterday. And change is a proof that you’re making strenuous efforts to put yourself in better situations in this world. [t-mark]
