That’s why you should pick something that makes it easy for you to get up in the morning, because you’re excited to start your day. Something that makes you look forward to Mondays as much as the weekends. Something that doesn’t even feel like work, because you love it so much.
Pick something that makes you excited about your future. Something that you can imagine doing forever — even when you’re old and grey and everyone is encouraging you to just retire already. Something that you’re never going to want to give up, because it’s a part of you.
Your forever person is important, sure, but so is your career. You’re going to spend just as many hours working as you’re going to spend with your person so you better make the most of it. You better pick something that won’t make your days drag, that won’t make you wish you could curse your boss out and quit.
