There's a difference between "not being able to pay the bills" and "irrationally fearing that one day you may not be able to."

Your main anxiety: Not finding your life partner in time
What your subconscious wants you to know: If it’s not happening now, there’s something else in front of you that needs your attention. The main purpose of your life isn’t to fall in love. It’s to become the person you want and were always meant to be.

Your main anxiety: Whether or not you’re with the right partner
What your subconscious wants you to know: You need to re-evaluate how you determine who the “right partner” is.

Your main anxiety: Not being able to lose weight
What your subconscious wants you to know: You are safe. The body often stores weight when it feels insecure – it’s a physiological response to stress. Fearing, or resisting, losing it is often due to not wanting to feel “unsafe.”

Your main anxiety: Hating your appearance
What your subconscious wants you to know: Changing your body out of self-hate will not result in health or happiness. It will create disordered thinking and emotional chaos. Either practice radical self-acceptance, or change yourself for the sake of holistic health – mental, emotional, physical. This is not done by subscribing to the delusion that looking a certain way will make you a better, more loved person.

Your main anxiety: Irrationality, such as constantly being convinced people dislike you, you’re in danger, you can’t take an airplane, things are going wrong (when they’re not) etc.
What your subconscious wants you to know: You need to process the emotional mini-traumas that you never truly dealt with. They are resurfacing in bizarre ways. This is your emotional body trying to get your attention, and to let yourself feel what happened, so you can release it.

Your main anxiety: Never “getting over” something, like a death in the family or a breakup
What your subconscious wants you to know: This event had more of an impact on you than you are admitting to yourself right now. Come to terms with how much this actually mattered.

Your main anxiety: Not being able to pay the bills
What your subconscious wants you to know: There’s a difference between “not being able to pay the bills” and “irrationally fearing that one day you may not be able to.” Ground yourself in reality. Be grateful for what you have. Save for the future. Stop robbing yourself by wasting money on things you don’t need. Be responsible. Work as much as you need to. Take it one day at a time.

Your main anxiety: Never making enough money
What your subconscious wants you to know: Aside from having enough to live decently, the quality of your life is not quantified by a dollar amount. It takes very little to make a happy life.

Your main anxiety: Not living in the right city
What your subconscious wants you to know: You’re not afraid of missing out, you’re afraid of committing. A new city is not the answer to your problems. Home is where you make it.

Your main anxiety: Not having a “good enough” social media presence
What your subconscious wants you to know: Some people are better at taking photos than others. That does not mean they have a better life. You’re comparing a constructed illusion to your reality.

Your main anxiety: Potential romantic partners preferring other people because they are more attractive, smart, or rich.
What your subconscious wants you to know: Stop looking for partners who only want someone who is attractive, smart or rich. Those people are assholes.

Your main anxiety: Losing a job
What your subconscious wants you to know: Losing one thing will not destroy your life forever. You will find a new job, just like you will find a new partner, or friend, or home, or car. No one thing has the power to ruin everything. Don’t fool yourself into thinking it does.

Your main anxiety: What other people think
What your subconscious wants you to know: What other people think is a projection of what you secretly know, fear or assume. It’s your own hangups that you need to evaluate, not other people’s.

Your main anxiety: How much money you do or don’t make
What your subconscious wants you to know: You are not better than the people you earn more money than. You are not worse than the people you earn less than. Social status is an illusion. Stop wanting more than you need.

Your main anxiety: Whether or not you’re falling behind in life
What your subconscious wants you to know: It is impossible to “fall behind” on your own path. You’re just comparing yours to someone else’s.

Your main anxiety: Being almost, but not quite ever good enough
What your subconscious wants you to know: The only person you’re not good enough for is yourself. Re-evaluate the way you think about what makes a person “good.”

Your main anxiety: Being killed in some freak accident
What your subconscious wants you to know: Life is precious, and short. But mostly, it’s unpredictable. Savor today. This fear is your mind trying to shake you into being present, and really living each day of your life. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
