Date Someone Who Makes Your Stomach Flip Just By Saying ‘Hi’

The first time I had a major crush on a guy in high school, my stomach flip flopped so hard that I nearly got sick. I had no idea what was happening to me and I thought I was coming down with the flu. Turns out, I just had a gigantic sickly crush on someone.

Isn’t it strange what your body can tell you before your mind can catch up to it? Sometimes, a stomach flip, a belly full of butterflies, or a sweaty palm is all it takes for you to realize that you like someone.

And you know what? You shouldn’t settle for anything less.

Date someone who makes your body react before your mind even realizes it. Date someone who causes your body to have a physical and chemical reaction that you can’t let go of. This isn’t about attraction. It’s about how comfortable your body feels with this person and how your body reacts when you are in their presence.

Butterflies don’t always feel pleasant. And stomach flip flops don’t feel so good either. But if it happens to you after not feeling it for so long, it feels beautiful. It feels fantastic.

Finally, you’ve met someone who causes your body to freak the f*** out.

And then when your mind realizes that you like this person, it feels out of this world magical.

Date someone who makes your stomach flip in the little things. Date someone who makes your stomach flip when they say “hello”, and when they grab your hands in a crowded room. Date someone who makes your hands go sweaty when they kiss you for the first time, and when you take off your clothes in front of them without turning the lights off.

Date someone who makes you get a million of butterflies in your stomach when they smile at you when you first wake up, and when you catch them gazing at you across the room. Date someone who makes you feel dizzy when they brag to their friends about you and doesn’t care when they watch you two make out.

Date someone who makes you weak in the knees when they ask you to dance in the middle of the street during a thunderstorm, and when they pull you close and tell you that they are in love with you.

Date someone who makes you cry when they are leaving town for a month, and when they send you letters in the mail. Date someone who makes you tear up in happiness when they kiss you and tell you that you’re safe after a bad day at work. Date someone who makes your stomach keep flipping over and over no matter how much time has passed and no matter how much life tries to get in the way.

Date someone who makes you not afraid to love anymore. Who makes you want to shout to the world that you are in love. And date someone who feels the exact same way. Date someone whose stomach flips whenever they see you. And date someone who gets butterflies whenever they see you smile. Date someone who goes weak in the knees when you tell them you are in love with them.

And date someone whose palms get sweaty whenever he thinks about the future. Because he knows his future will be with you. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
