You know how you’ve had those moments of asking yourself, “Should I really post this on Facebook?” Dana Snay’s answer should have definitely been an emphatic no.

The Miami Herald reported that a settlement had been made between Dana’s father, Patrick Snay, and Gulliver Preparatory School in regards to an age discrimination suit he filed in 2010 after his contract as headmaster was not renewed. The school agreed to pay him $80,000 with a clause that Patrick and his wife keep the information private. The couple decided to share the news with their daughter, which turned out to be a terrible idea as she decided to celebrate on Facebook:

“Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver,” Dana Snay posted days later to her 1,200 Facebook friends. “Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT.”

It’s safe to say that was a violation of the agreement. The school quickly learned of Dana’s post which resulted in The Third District Court of Appeal to throw out the suit, which means Patrick Snay will not be getting $80,000 and Gulliver will not be paying for Dana’s vacation, nor will they be sucking it.

Let’s all learn from Dana’s mistakes and keep legal or business information that no one needs to know private. You realize that you don’t have to share everything on Facebook, right?
