Erika Kirk Says She Forgives Her Husband’s Killer At Funeral Service Today in Arizona

By

Erika Kirk shared a message of forgiveness at a memorial/funeral service for her husband Charlie Kirk on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in Arizona

She explained that Charlie’s mission was to save young men, even men like the one who ultimately took his life.

Quoting Scripture, she recalled Jesus’ words on the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” In that same spirit, she declared to the person responsible for her husband’s death: “I forgive him.” The crowd erupted in cheers.

Then said: “I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And it was what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”

Politics aside, it’s an empowering message of forgiveness and a historical moment as the world reacts to the first assassination of a mainstream public figure since John Lennon.
