What To Watch On July 9, 2025: ‘The Gringo Hunters Premiere’+ ‘Always Sunny’ Returns

By

Today we have a new action-packed series launching, a beloved comedy going strong in it’s seventeenth season, and a classic coming of age film ringing in another anniversary. Check out everything you need to know in streaming below!

The Gringo Hunters

Netflix is bringing us a limited series about an elite Mexican police task force with a reputation for capturing American fugitives fleeing across the border to evade prosecution in the states. It’s a timely reversal of President Donald Trump’s claims about criminals pouring over the border, and will attract fans of series like Narcos and The Queen of the South. Episodes combine real-life interviews, reenactments, and archival footage to illustrate the complex and high stakes lifestyle.

‘Always Sunny’ Season 17

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is back to kick off a brand new season, and finish Part II of it’s crossover event in an episode titled “The Gang F***s Up Abbott Elementary”. Part I aired as an episode of Abbott, and saw Charlie, Dennis, Mac, Dee, and Frank as school volunteers helping with various projects as well as trying to break up couples and eating compost, so we have no idea how much crazier it could get from there. Watch tonight to see the epic conclusion!

Notable Anniversaries: American Pie

Universal Pictures

The 1999 comedy classic with one of the most memorable ensemble casts of all time (Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Alyson Hannigan, Natasha Lyonne, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Eugene Levy, Chris Owen, and Jennifer Coolidge) is turning 26 today. Relive the magic of “one summer at band camp” and beyond in honor of this oldie but goodie.
