Today is dead when it comes to new streaming and theater releases, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to watch.

It’s the last day of June and we’ve been spending the month creating great lists of movies and shows to watch for Pride Month, but most of our lists feature older and recent classics. What about queer cinema released recently? If you want to catch up on new LGBTQ+ shows and movies, here’s what’s come out this June.

New queer shows for June, 2025

Netflix

Netflix released a new season of The Ultimatum: Queer Love, a show about people in established relationships figuring out if they should stay together. With an all-queer cast, it makes it that much more entertainingly complicated. (I just wonder if they’ll have an all-male cast someday.)

Apple TV+

With a leading character played by a trans actress (Josie Totah as Mabel Elmsworth) and plenty of moments of queer love, the period drama The Buccaneers‘ second season premier could be what you want–especially if you liked Bridgerton. You can find this show on Apple TV+.

New queer movies for June, 2025

HBO

For a documentary about the trans experience featuring two icons, watch Enigma on Max. Following the lives of Amanda Lear and April Ashley, you can get a look at the trans and queer experience from the 1970s to today.

National Geographic Documentary Films

New documentary film Sally celebrates the storied life of astronaut Sally Ride, including the romance she had with her partner and hid for the final 27 years of her life. She was the first American woman in space and an absolute legend overall.

What we’re talking about

Jensen Ackles is heating up the screen on Amazon Prime Video’s Countdown.
