After analyzing industry trends and critical reception, here are our predictions for who will win on Hollywood’s biggest night.
Best Picture: Anora
Sean Baker’s Anora has emerged as the clear frontrunner, especially after winning the Producers Guild of America (PGA) Award, which is often a reliable indicator of the Best Picture winner. This dark comedy and emotionally charged film has captivated critics and audiences alike, solidifying its place as the one to beat.

While Emilia Pérez boasts a record-breaking 13 nominations and remains a formidable competitor, Anora’s growing momentum makes it my pick for the top prize.
Best Director: Sean Baker (Anora)
Sean Baker’s masterful direction in Anora has earned widespread acclaim, and his recent Directors Guild of America (DGA) puts him as the favorite. His ability to blend humor, grit, and social commentary into a compelling cinematic experience makes him the likely choice for the Academy.
That said, Jacques Audiard (Emilia Pérez) and Brady Corbet (The Brutalist) also delivered remarkable directorial feats and could pose an upset.
Best Actress: Demi Moore (The Substance)
