Whether you identify yourself as male, female, or agender, feminism affects us all. By definition, feminism is, “the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.” So, if you look up feminism in the dictionary you will not see the stereotypical image of an angry, man-hating woman with hairy armpits and legs.
Growing up is never easy. We deal with awkward haircuts to awkward feelings and everything in between. We feel obligated to know exactly who we are, what we’re capable of, and our purpose in this life.
What I’m trying to get to is this: I will wholeheartedly admit that I used social media as a way to crop, edit, and filter my new reality, but that is not okay. We shouldn’t try to mask the struggles of our daily lives in order to prove to others that we’re better.
